Rob Mannion is the founder and CEO of RNF’s b2b.store. He spent the early part of his career at IBM and worked on many high profile e-business hosting deals in the UK and was one of the first Technical Solution Managers working on early internet-based businesses such as Cahoot.
Rob set up RNF in 2009 which initially designed business websites. Not long after one of his clients Bridgestone Tyres asked if he could build an app to support their agricultural markets and with the help of his brother Mike the company created the world’s first business app for a global tyre manufacturer. The Firestone Tyre Pressure calculator has now been downloaded in 172 countries around the world.
In 2013 the business put on a seminar entitled ‘Does your business need an app’. The seminar was a flop with only one person turning up, however that person was the digital director for a major UK wholesaler Bestway Cash and Carry. The meeting led to Rob and his team developing what was the UK’s first ordering app for a wholesaler which then led to the company gaining significant traction in the UK grocery sector. They now have over 75 apps in various wholesale sectors which have processed over £220m of transactions and 200,000 orders in the last 12 months alone.
RNF is now solely focussed on deploying services that add value to wholesalers and distributors and Rob is passionate about making sophisticated technology accessible to markets where digital adoption has been slow. Just over 2 years ago he recognised the need for an off-the-shelf white-label offering for wholesalers who simply couldn’t afford the costs involved in bespoke app development. Using all RNF’s experience they have created the b2b.store product, helping multiple wholesalers in multiple sectors maximise on the digital opportunity and take their businesses to the next level.
Since its inception RNF has won multiple accolades including Best App developer, Rockstar Development Team and Retail and E-Commerce Innovator of the Year.
