How b2b.store is powered by Artificial Intelligence

Chris Evans

Automation is driving improvements across the business

It’s hardly likely to come as a surprise that we’re embracing AI at b2b.store. As digital experts, we’ve been dabbling with a variety of new technologies to see where we can benefit from the support they offer – and we’re glad to report we haven’t been taken over by robots… yet.

In fact, by exploring some of the raft of AI tools out there, we’ve found ways to improve our productivity, aid with our creative output, and to be a great sounding board for business decisions.

This knowledge is more than a valuable internal resource, though. The time spent trying out what AI has to offer has also armed us with the understanding of the AI that help with our customers’ challenges, aiding the solutions we suggest to them.

Our use of AI has reached into each of our departments as the teams use AI in different ways to get the best results. Here are some of our favourites:

Software development (Cursor)

A gamechanger for our development team’s productivity, Cursor is an AI code editor – essentially helping us to bring our visions to life much quicker than we previously did. The key to getting the best results is the instructions, so if we can succinctly explain what it should do, Cursor will write the code for us to apply. Naturally, this is saving us lots of time and helping to speed up our dev output.

AI assistants (DeepSeek, Copilot, ChatGPT et al)

There are a whole host of AI assistants out there and we’re finding different uses for each one, so understanding the strengths of each maximises what you get from them. The ever-increasing usage of AI assistants spells danger for search engines, with their ability to answer specific questions rather than simply point users in the direction of where to find out what they want.

The AI assistants are also good sounding boards, reaffirming decisions or providing another slant on topics thanks to their in-built AGI (artificial general intelligence) that helps AI learn and understand the tasks it carries out. We’ve used these tools for a number of tasks, including tightening up sales decks, lead generation, and carrying out competitive comparisons – and it’s only getting better.

Asset creation (Midjourney and Image Playground)

Text-to-image AI is one of the easiest to appreciate, with the technology evolving at such a rate that it’s difficult to tell some of the best pictures it creates aren’t real. Early iterations would produce images with several clear deficiencies, but the likes of Midjourney are now so good, we created a print brochure recently with several AI humans masquerading as the real thing.

Free versions, such as Apple’s Image Playground, have also proved to be big timesavers by cutting down on image sourcing time. The key is in the commands you put into these tools, with accurate descriptions helping to create the assets you need.

AI meeting notetakers/summarisers (Supernormal and NotebookLM)

The idea of virtual assistants taking minutes and summarising actions isn’t a new one, but the technology powering it has improved that now their outputs are much better than before. The likes of Supernormal and Fathom will run alongside online meetings, automating notes, agendas and insights, so you can concentrate on the discussion at hand.

To complement that, NotebookLM is the perfect way to digest meeting notes and documents shared by others, providing summaries of key points in bitesize chunks. NotebookLM also includes an audio overview function, which creates podcast-like summaries for you to listen to – making it much easier to get up to speed.
