b2b.store CEO and founder Rob Mannion sat on a panel of AI experts to discuss the new EU AI Act that came to force in August 2025.

The webinar – hosted by compliance experts, HiComply – looked at how wholesalers face increasing cyber risks whilst balancing the efficiency of AI adoption, unpacking how businesses in the sector can act now to protect themselves before AI regulation and compliance challenges accelerate.

Alongside Mannion on the panel was Lucy Batley, the founder of AI strategists Traction Industries; Katie Simmonds, Legal Director for law firm Womble Bond Dickinson; and HiComply’s VP of Product, Matthew Bitalji, who is helping businesses pass the new ISO42001 standard to guard against evolving cyber threats.

The webinar covered are number of topics, including

• What the EU AI Act really means for wholesale retailers

• Why strong cybersecurity and governance frameworks are critical now

• The emerging risks and responsibilities that come with AI adoption

• How to prepare for ISO/IEC 42001, the new AI management system standard
